The Bogyoke Aung San Museum is a bit of a memorial of General Aung San, leader of Myanmar's independence movement (from the British), and father of the well known Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. Situated in a pleasant suburb of Yangon it is housed in Aung San and Aung San Suu Kyi's former residence. Aung San lived here with his wife and three children for a couple of years before he was assassinated in 1947.
It's a pretty house that looks a bit like something out of Germany or northern Europe.

Free for locals but about $5 for locals it was interesting enough for a brief visits, but there wasn't really a whole lot in there unless you are super into learning more on Aung San's life.

You can see the bed where Aung San Suu Kyi and her siblings slept in and some old furniture and pictures from the family. In the kitchen there's a handwritten note to his wife asking for naan and steamed yellow peas for dinner.

Normally I enjoy these smaller museums that tell a little of history. But for this one I only give it 2 stars - stop by only if you are already in the area.
